Keywords

Keywords are a big part of most projects and Content Farmer Pro™ makes them easy to enter and use. There are 3 ways that you can enter keywords into Content Farmer Pro™:

  1. Simple Keyword List

This is just a list of keywords, one per line.

  2. Advanced Keyword List

This format allows you to associate keywords with URLs. The format of the list is

    #KEYWORDS#
    #URLS#
    http://www.url1.com/
    http://www.url2.com/#KEYWORD#F#O#-#.html
    #/URLS#
    keyword 1
    keyword 2
    keyword 3
    #/KEYWORDS#

This format will assign each of the keywords within the #KEYWORDS# block to each of the URLs enclosed within the contained #URLS# block. For the example above, we would have the following list of keyword-URL pairs (note that you can use the #KEYWORD# token in creating URLs):

    keyword 1,http://www.url1.com/
    keyword 2,http://www.url1.com/
    keyword 3,http://www.url1.com/
    keyword 1,http://www.url2.com/keyword-1.html
    keyword 2,http://www.url2.com/keyword-2.html
    keyword 3,http://www.url2.com/keyword-3.html

You may enter as may of the #KEYWORDS# blocks as you want in a single file. The will be parsed separately. For example,

    #KEYWORDS#
    #URLS#
    http://www.url1.com/
    #/URLS#
    keyword 1
    keyword 2
    keyword 3
    #/KEYWORDS#

    #KEYWORDS#
    #URLS#
    http://www.url2.com/#KEYWORD#F#O#-#.html
    #/URLS#
    keyword 4
    keyword 5
    keyword 6
    #/KEYWORDS#

    would become these keyword-URL pairs

    keyword 1,http://www.url1.com/
    keyword 2,http://www.url1.com/
    keyword 3,http://www.url1.com/
    keyword 4,http://www.url2.com/keyword-4.html
    keyword 5,http://www.url2.com/keyword-5.html
    keyword 6,http://www.url2.com/keyword-6.html

  3. Sitemap

For this, use any HTML page (with non-desired links removed). Content Farmer Pro™ will go through the list and grab the text of all links along with the URL of the link and store that as a keyword-URL pair. For example, <a href="http://www.mydomain.com/keyword-1/index.html">keyword 1 link text</a> would be parsed into the keyword-URL pair keyword 1 link text,http://www.mydomain.com/keyword-1/index.html.

When using this format, you must fill in a value for Subdir. Max Links. This option determines how many links Content Farmer Pro™ will pull from each subdirectory of all URLs contained within the page. So, for example, if your HTML page contains 5000 links to http://www.mydomain.com/ and there are 500 in each of 10 subdirectories (e.g. http://www.mydomain.com/subdirectory1/page1.html, http://www.mydomain.com/subdirectory1/page2.html, ...) entering a value of 100 will only grab 100 links from each of the 10 subdirectories (for a total, in this example, of 100x10 = 1000 total keyword-URL pairs). If you simply want all URLs in the page enter an asterisk, *. You may only use one sitemap source at a time. If you enter more than one URL in the box, only the first one will be used.

Any of the formats above may be used in the Keywords/Sitemap URL box, the Keyword File upload option, or the local file drop-down menu(if present, see the section on Large File Support for more information on the local file drop-down menu). Additionally, you can enter a single URL in the Keywords/Sitemap URL box (along with a value for Subdir. Max Links, as required) and Content Farmer Pro™ will fetch the URL and parse it for you.

NOTE: If you have a keyword list with URLs, then 2 tokens are available for your use:

  1. #KEYWORDLINK# - Creates a backlink using the current keyword and keyword's URL and any attributes entered into the Keyword Link attributes box.
  2. #BACKLINK[#R]# - Creates a backlink using a random keyword from your keyword list and any attributes entered into the Keyword Link attributes box. If using #R, then the keyword-url pair chosen must match the current keyword's URL format (which may include a token).

Keyword Order
When random is selected, keywords will be chosen from the list randomly and exclude from the next random choice until all the words have been used and an email will be sent notifying you of the reset. Whether random OR sequential, the list will be reset if reset is checked, only after the keywords have been used.

Once you have keywords and/or sitemaps entered, the Append, Auto-reset, Reset and Delete keyword list options will appear.

Append Keyword List
You can either replace your entire keyword list or append items to the current list. Check this box to append; otherwise, the current information will be deleted.

Auto-Reset KW List
If checked, your keyword list will be reset after every keyword has been used; otherwise, when all keywords have been used, they will not be used again. If unchecked and content can still be created without a keyword (e.g. content sources), then posts will still occur. Choose "Pause Project When Out of Keywords" in the When To Post area to have posting cease when no more keywords are available

ResetChecking this box will change the status of all keywords to unused.

DeleteSimply check to delete your keyword list.
